SAM!
today was sooo coool. i was super scared to go on the raft, but im so glad i did. we all had a really good time...not to mention checking out the cute guide! we had soaked wet suits on and booties that still had water in them from the day before but it was still awesome! then after our rafting experience we went up to mt evans that was 14,000 feet into the air and it felt like we were in the clouds! it was also a little hard to breathe up there and most of us didnt feel good but we climbed the rocks anyway and took many pictures! we also had a relaxing and freeing church service a little lower down in the mountain which was cool. after all that, it was time to eat! we went to a really good pizza restaurant and katie and i shared margarita pizza which was phenominal. and now, im chillin here with pink hair dye in my hair...so surprise mom and dad...your daughter now has pink hair. oh and mrs busse, nicole does too! (: dont worry, it loooks really cute! and its only a little tiny strand. okay, goodbye everyone. thanks for following this!

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has voted for the green team, we are dominating! We've been in Denver now for 3 days and have seen and done so many amazing things. We spent a day at wilderness on wheels, went to a Colorado Rockies game, went white-water rafting (and none of us fell out of the boat), went 14,000 feet up to Mt. Evans, and had communion on the mountain. Tomorrow we will start our journey home. Thanks to all who visited this blog, supported our group, and helped us out.
Love,
Totally Epic Trevor

Straight From Savannah (:
hello everyone!
this has been such an amazing experience so far! we are doing a lot of incredible things. yesterday we filled san bags for about 3 and a half hours! there were many times that we wanted to quit. it was very hard work. but then we remembered all the people we would be helping and that gave us so much motivation! all together we made over 1000 bags of sand. last night, we served at the homeless shelter. it was really nice to see there smiling faces while we served them and talked to them. David made a new friend, james. they were so much alike! it felt good knowing that we put smiles on their faces and made them happy (:
we also learned a very good lesson, never judge a book by its cover. when we showed up to the camp site, everyone was a little skeptical. it didnt seem like a normal camp site. but later in the evening when we were talking to Bob, the owner, took us up to see the stars and told us about the history of North Platte, Nebraska, we realized that we were in the right place (: God has been so good to us on this trip so far. while driving into denver, along the horizan were mountains. it was amazing seeing Gods phenomenal creation. we are looking forward to serving Him on the rest of this trip.
God Bless! <3

TREVOR!!!
Hi,
The black van is the best van! Pretty, pretty please - vote for my group (AKA the green group) as your favorite group (and for you Brits, your "favourite" group). The group is Dano, Emily, & Nicole. The title of this blog (totally epic) describes it all, we spent three days driving and saw loads of cool stuff on the way. We got to Denver around 5-6pm tonight and Dan is making spaghetti for dinner. Thanks to everyone that we've met so far, to all who've supported this trip, and to the two-hundred-some-odd folks who've visited this site. May the good Lord bless you!
I love you all!

okay, sam here!
i woke up this morning and my neck and shoulders hurt super duper bad and it was early so i thought i would fall asleep to escape the pain. it worked! when the group woke up some girls took the first shower of the trip, and that was amazing even though there was a mammoth sized bug in the shower. but it was nice to feel clean none the less. we then ate breakfast and were on the road. i was so happy to be on the road and we had a great time "worshipping" in the van. seeing the mountains for the first time was incredible! it kinda felt like we were driving uphill the whole time we were driving today.....dont worry....we have been drinking lots of water....practically going through a case a day! we are finally in the church and we were all relieved to see there was carpet and COUCHES! i love the earth, but not pariculary sleeping on it....as most of us agree. We are staying in a great church with clean bathrooms and showers. and exploring DENVER tonight (: thanks for following our trip! it means alot! oh, and special shout out to the workers at FORT CODY, we loved your store!

From the mouth of McKenzie:
I really would love to spend this whole blog rambling about how beautiful the stars were last night! I never thought I'd say this but nebraska is soooo much better than rockford. The view we had last night is indescribible! We could even see the the milky way! It was spectacular! I have never seen the stars like that! What was so cool was the fAct that we were aabove the tree line so we had a clear shot at the night sky! I even got to make my wish on a shooting star :) After we were done staring at the stars we drove back now and had our smores by the fire! Yum!
So we then got settled in our tents and went to sleep. Dan, TiffAny, and savanah woke up and watched the sun rise.
So this morning we got to sleep in a little and then we piled in The vans to get on the road. We stopped at fort Cody, a great little tourist trap complete with a buffalo out front that most of us climbed on to take pictures (you will see those eventually). We looked around inside and had some good laughs! So we are now back on the road and almost to ColorAdo!! 200 miles to go! We are all having a greAt time!

Monday!
We arrived in north platte yesterday, just in time for a tour of THE Connection and to get on our gloves for dinner. Some of us were serving dinner, others were getting to know the dinner guests, and Trevor and Cyndi rocked the high tech dishwasher! We all met people and heard stories that were amazing. Savannah describes her dinner friend as "so happy." She further said "and she was so thankful I asked about HER and her story." David met a gentleman that looked like him! They talked the whole hour and both left smiling from ear to ear. David said "we have so much in commom!' We got to the Ft. McPherson Campground and started to wonder what we got into. That all changed once the owner took us to the top of their mountain to see the stars. Ob the way up, we were about five feet from the cattle they raise on the hillside! We could see the Milky Way, all the constellations, and McKenzie wished upon her shooting star. (That was on her bucket list). Off to Denver tomorrow!
PS..we are reading the book of Philipians this week. Monday was chapter one, Tuesday is chapter two. Follow along with us, if you'd like!

Day TWO!
From the mouth of McKenzie:
So the rest of our evening was spent plAying the famous sArdines! There were some great hiding places in the church! Eventually everyone went to bed (I was the early one so I have no idea what shenaigAns occured if there were any ;) This morning we packed up and were served breakfest by pastor Patty. I still have no idea what we were eating but it was good! From there we packed up and headed to our service for the dAy: filling sand bAgs. I am pretty sure it is the most tedious job ever but we filled over 1000 bags! We had a little competition between the teAms to see who could fill the 9 flats first! The red team (tiffany, savanah, david, and mckenzie) won. Don't believe a word anyone else tells you! It was a lot of hard work but a ton of fun. We were succesfully covered in sand by the end of our time there. After our time playing in the sand we stopped at walmart to get supplies for lunch. We had our sandwiches at a picnic in the walmart parking lot. Yep we are living the dream! We are now pilled up in the cars on our way to north platt, which means everyone is sleeping! I'm sure you all miss us dearly but we are having a GREAT time!
P.s. Yes there are lots of words misspelled in here. Thst is what happens when you use tiffany's phone to update you all.

Day One!
We had an amazing and moving service this morning at church, before we left Rockford. Everyone showed up on time AND all of our stuff fit in the vans! We traveled from Rockford to Walcott, Iowa, where we stopped at the World's Largest Truckstop. We ventured onto Des Moines, where we briefly visited Lutheran Church of Hope and checked out the "hopemobiles." Once we got into Omaha, we had dinner from a Mexican Food Truck that was parked across from the church, and it was awesome! Tomorrow is a full day, starting with filing sand bags in Council Bluffs and then onto North Platte where we will serve at a homeless shelter and then camp. Good night!!
